UEF attended the last "Forêt 2019", joint session of the 77th session of ECE commitee on forests and the forest industry and the 40th session of the FAO European Forestry Commission in Geneva, in the Palais des Nations.

Ilpo Puputti, UEF vice president, was in Switzerland, representing UEF.

The programme was the following:

• to accept the guidelines of Green Jobs
• how the work continues?
• side-event Tuesday afternoon
• Team of Specialists meeting on Tuesday evening.

The 5th European forest week was also celebrated throughout Europe under the theme "Forests and the Circular Economy".

First celebrated in 2008, the European Forest Week provides a unique opportunity to increase the forest sector's visibility and to influence pan-European and global discussions related to forests. The week is jointly organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

This year, the European Forest Week was celebrated in Geneva in conjunction with Forêt 2019, the Joint Session of the UNECE Committee on Forests and the Forest Industry (COFFI), and the FAO European Forestry Commission (EFC).
